Designed in 1934 by Jean Puirocat for the Ocean liner Normandie that brought passengers from New York to Le Havre, this elegant flatware graced the dinner table for its first-class passengers. The set has been celebrated since its inception for its modern sensibility with architectural sensibility and minimal ornamentation. This set features a six piece dinner service for twelve including a salad fork and knife, tea spoon, dessert spoon and dinner fork and knife with elegant proportions and circular detailing at each end- all in lustrous silver plate. With its clean modernist lines (representing the best of Art Deco design) this set promises to bring more than a touch of elegance to any table setting. Marked "France Jean E. Puiforcat". Each set comes presented in an individual felt pouch marked Puiforcat. Excellent condition.
