Description
An Elegant and Timeless Pair of Italian Mid-Century Modern Lounge Chairs / Armchairs or Bed-side Chairs attributed to Gio Ponti and by ISA Bergamo. The chairs show a strong resemblance to other chairs that Gio Ponti designed for ISA Bergamo circa 1955 with their smooth, and free-flowing lines and inviting, sensuous forms. The chairs are covered in chalk blue fabric. They rest on a pair of angled and tapered solid brass legs that is a characteristic of chairs by ISA.
Gio Ponti was the leading figure in Italian architecture and design for most of the 20th Century. His works embraced architecture, furniture, lighting, ceramics. He founded the design magazine, Domus and had a storng hand in the creation of Fontana Arte. ISA Bergamo was a leading producer of Italian decorative arts. Both their works are much sought after. -
