-
Description
Marcel Giraud was born in 1937 in Vallauris, France. He left school at the age of 13 to become an apprentice potter at the workshop of Blaise Rubino. He later worked at several other workshops in the area until he opened his own studio in 1960, creating mostly utilitarian ware. Since 1975, Giraud has taken up painting, sculpture and continues to create sculptural figures, animals and other decorative objects in his retirement.
Here we have a pair of table lamps in ceramic and fabric diffusers designed by Marcel Giraud in 60s. They are very simple but with the animal shape they convey a happy atmosphere and they are so appealing.
Signature engraved in the ceramic as shown in photos.
