Large Tuscany-Style Wall Sconce in Tinplate and Gold Paint, Italy c. 1950

$ 1,885
  • Description
    This Tuscany-influenced large wall sconce has nine lights amid vines, leaves, and blossoms. It is made of tinplated steel which has been hand-forged, hand-assembled with solder, then hand-covered in distressed gilt paint. It is of high Italian craftsmanship. The lights can be turned on using the three-way switch to illuminate three different patterns, as seen in the photographs #9, #10, and #11. The patterns are: five lights on, four lights on, or all nine lights on. The candle-like socket holders take narrow-base screw-in bulbs. The gilt finish is in the distressed style of Florence as often seen in Italian furniture and decorations. The sconce has been rewired 25 years ago, as seen in the last photograph. It can be hung on a wall using the attached ring on the back and then plugged into an electrical socket using the cord and plug. It can also be professionally mounted and connected directly into wall wiring in your home or office to eliminate the use of the electrical cord and plug.
