Elegant and Timeless Pair of French Mid-Century Modern Hand-Stitched Dark Brown Leather Floor Lamps by Jacques Adnet circa 1950. This classic hand made model from the renowned French designer, Jacques Adnet is sought after as an icon of design and refined taste. It has a unique profile featuring a weighted cone shaped base and a cone shaped shade united by a straight, and, then sublime curving stem. It is magic for eyes in its form, proportions, scale and balance. And, a pair is a rarity. H 58.5" x Diameter of the base alone: 8.5”.
Jacques Adnet was one of the most important designers in France during the 1925 to 1970 periods. He achieved worldwide fame and his work embraced several movements including Art Deco, Modernism and Neoclassicism. His pieces in hand-stitched leather are still sought after worldwide including the model shown here.
