An exceptional, solid oak table from France, 19th century, it is of ideal proportions to function as a side table, a bench, or stool in any number of settings. This example offers a rectangular top of a single plank with overhanging edges on three sides, routed to a low slope, and flat along the backside to sit flush with a wall. Stylized carvings hang from the deep apron for an interesting silhouette from every angle. Thick, columnar legs are met with proportionate stretchers for a solid base to use as seating, display surface, or an unexpected coffee table.
