Maison Jansen pair of brass reeds water lilies floor lamps 1970s
-
Description
This is an incredible set of two Maison Jansen reeds and water lilies floor lamps, one of the most iconic Maison Jansen pieces from the 1970s era. They are made largely from bright and patinated brass, which gives it an air of high-end glamour. What makes the Maison Jansen lamps most extraordinary is the level of detail that went into every aspect, and these floor lamps have it all. Each water lily leaf, reed leaf and stem has been shaped to look and feel natural, the reeds being flexible and almost feeling alive. The square base is a mix of polished and patinated brass, matching perfectly the general feel of the piece, strong yet elegant and poetic. There are four light fixtures at each corner of the base, under the water lilies, and one powerful halogen fixture at the reed base. From a distance it’s unclear where the warm light is coming from. These 2 pieces have been fully restored, reelectrified, and are found in an amazing vintage condition. Incredibly rare as a pair with a matching patina.
