Description
We are presenting a rare opportunity to acquire one of Leroy Neiman's best and most compelling paintings. It is a statement piece. A combination of enticing subject matter with a monumental size and very good condition puts this Neiman at the very top of the artist's oeuvre. With a rapid-fire Abstract Expressionist brush stroke and torrid color scheme, Neiman captures the dynamic gesticulations of belly dancers as they make love to the viewer's eyeballs. The paint surface is as erotically charged as the subject matter, with an orgy of overlapping and intertwining pigments. In person, the painting has greater power and will command the room as it seduces the observer. It is from his earlier period and from the collection of a Playboy executive.
The work is framed in a very appropriate metal frame that was popular at the time.
Signed and dated lower left. Framed size: 48 x 58.5 -
