19th Cent Gustavian Style Pine Chest of Drawers in Dark Grey with Marbleized Top
-
Description
A refined Gustavian style chest of drawers from Sweden, dating circa 1880–1890, crafted in pine wood and finished in a sophisticated palette of soft grey with a darker, marbleized top in deep grey, nearly black. The top is bordered with a band of decorative dentil carvings, lending an elegant architectural touch. The upper drawer is adorned with hand-carved rhombus motifs and fitted with its original brass pulls, while the two lower drawers echo the same restrained refinement, each with matching brass hardware. All locks are original and in working condition, with one key included. The chamfered corners are accented with carved vertical strips, each decorated with a small diamond detail at the top, and the chest rests on classic tapered legs. A versatile piece with timeless appeal, this Gustavian chest brings both utility and understated grandeur to modern or traditional interiors.
