A rare matched pair of Swedish painted chests, circa 1880, combining neoclassical elegance with Scandinavian restraint. Each chest features three drawers, framed by fluted side details and raised on tapered feet, creating a balanced and architectural silhouette. The top drawer is distinguished by a carved Greek key motif, a timeless neoclassical element that adds depth and rhythm to the design. Retaining a soft, later-painted surface in a pale gray-white wash, the pair exudes quiet sophistication and versatility, blending seamlessly with both traditional and modern interiors. Rarely found as a true pair, these chests are ideal for use as bedside tables, flanking pieces in a living room, or as refined storage in an entryway. Their symmetry, scale, and authentic patina make them especially desirable.
