Description
Ico Parisi was an Italian architect and designer, born in Palermo in 1916. His activity, marked by continuous experimentation, consists in an incessant research in the fields of architecture, art and design. Between 1948 and 1950 he devoted himself to the study of furniture elements. In the field of design, the crucial encounters with Munari, Fontana and Melotti profoundly marked his experience. In 1947 he married Luisa Aiani and with her opened his first furniture studio in 1948, which took the name of La Ruota, the wheel, that was a hub for design, art, exhibitions and cultural events. Since his very earliest projects, Parisi had taken on a methodological approach, already seen in the works of Carlo Belli and Alberto Sartoris, that saw the integration of the pictorial arts in design work, with the involvement of painters and sculptures in the design process.
Here we have the wonderful bookcase mod. 1955 DB3, structure in wood and lacquered laminate wood with brass details, designed by Ico Parisi and produced by Angelo De Baggis in 1955.
In very good condition, fully original and ready to be shipped. -
