This exceptional stoneware vase was created by the renowned German master ceramicist Wendelin Stahl (1922–2000). The piece is signed on the underside with “G56/20” alongside Stahl’s signature. It was produced by the Wendelin Stahl Studio in Coraidelsheim, Germany, during the 1960s.
A striking example of mid-century studio pottery, the vase features a sculptural minimalist form with a spherical base and tall, slightly conical neck. It is finished in a superb crystalline hare’s-fur glaze in variegated yellow and black tones, executed with remarkable precision. The hare’s-fur technique produces a refined, almost iridescent gradient effect, giving the surface depth and movement.
The vase remains in very good vintage condition with no significant flaws, presenting beautifully and ready for display.
