Grotesque Nude Figures in Battle - like Hieronymus Bosch
-
Description
Erik Thor Sandberg paints a fantastical scene that features nude, grotesque combatants engaged in a bloody battle on a surreal, pink, stage-like surface. Some of the painting's subjects have spears and are fighting to keep others from climbing out of an inky black crevasse. Some look like otherworldly creatures climbing out of hell. The work embodies the spirit of Hieronymus Bosch. The work is unsigned and unframed.
