Elegant set of eight Swedish dining chairs from the Gustavian period, circa 1820, finely carved and retaining their original pale patinated finish. Each chair features an openwork backrest with neoclassical oval and sunburst motifs, reflecting the refined symmetry and lightness characteristic of early 19th-century Swedish design. The seats are newly upholstered in dark fabric, creating a sophisticated contrast with the aged white surface. Standing on fluted legs with carved rosettes at the corners, the chairs exhibit both structural balance and graceful proportion. The craftsmanship is meticulous yet restrained, lending timeless versatility to both formal and modern interiors. A superb and cohesive set that embodies the understated grandeur of Gustavian style—rooted in French neoclassicism but distinctly Scandinavian in its simplicity, color palette, and sense of harmony.
