Description
A rare and playful pair of salt and pepper shakers by renowned Mexican designer Emilia Castillo, handcrafted in Taxco, Mexico during the 1980s. Each piece combines fine porcelain with pure silver (plata pura) detailing, showcasing Castillo’s signature style that merges traditional Mexican silversmithing with whimsical, modern artistry.
The shakers depict charming, sculptural figures—one adorned with a silver bird and the other with a silver heart—decorated with hand-painted motifs in black. Both are signed “Emilia Castillo, Plata Mexico”, with one numbered 19 and the other 20, underscoring their collectible value.
