Description
A rare Jugendstil / Art Nouveau shoe store fitter’s stool with seat, dating from around 1900–1910, once used in a traditional shoe shop of the early 20th century. Crafted from beech bentwood by Gebrüder Thonet, Vienna (labelled underneath), showing the graceful lines typical of the Art Nouveau period. The surface has been professionally refreshed with shellac, preserving its authentic character. The original rubber pad has been retained. Overall in good, well-maintained condition.
