This rare armchair was produced in Denmark in the 1940s, and its striking design is attributed to Frits Schlegel.
The frame is crafted from solid cherrywood and retains its original Viennese cane seat and backrest. The flared rear legs sweep upward into elegantly pointed armrests, creating a distinctive angular profile that highlights Schlegel’s sculptural approach to form. Thoughtful construction details—including stretcher supports and a reinforced back section—add both stability and visual appeal.
The chair comes with a newly made custom cushion upholstered in luxurious ivory Lelièvre Paris bouclé, offering a soft, textured contrast to the warm cherrywood and natural cane. It is in good, restored condition with a renewed cushion.
The wood shows minor wear consistent with age and use, and the cane has developed a natural patina.
