Kai Ruokonen 'Finnmark' Floor Lamp for the Vaakuna Hotel, Orno, 1970s
-
Description
An iconic Scandinavian Design lamp "Finnmark", designed by Kai Ruokonen and manufactured by Orno Oy in the 1970s for the Vaakuna Hotel in Helsinki, Finland. The same model was also used later in the Palace Hotel Helsinki. A very simple yet elegant heavy duty lamp in full brass with a beautiful patina. There is something magical about the coldness of brass and the warmth of the light filtering through the shade. The condition is consistent with age, showing some signs of normal use and wear, but the overall impression is good. The heavy patina on the bottom part of the lamp is actually really nice and adds an exceptionally authentic vintage look.
The electricity is original and in working condition, however we do recommend it to be changed to current standards. -
