Description
The "Beba" table lamp was designed by Ernesto Radaelli for Lamperti in 1970. It features a tiered construction with a low-profile chrome-plated steel base. The lighting system utilizes two distinct glass layers: a translucent outer globe with a central indentation and an internal opal diffuser accented by a horizontal purple amethyst swirl. This combination creates a complex, diffused light effect characteristic of high-end 1970s Italian lighting design.
Ernesto Radaelli was an Italian designer active in the mid-to-late 20th century, known primarily for his collaboration with the lighting manufacturer Lamperti. His work often focused on the sculptural possibilities of hand-blown glass and polished metals, contributing to the innovative "Space Age" aesthetic that defined Italian interior design during the 1970s. -
