Description
This French Empire commode/chest of drawers is a truly unique and beautiful piece of history. It features a black marble top that rests above a blue painted case. The four drawers (top drawer is hidden within the top frieze) are flanked by white painted column side posts with brass capitals and bases on thick columnar feet at the front and block legs at the rear. The three lower drawers are each detailed with black painted decoration and fitted with a pair of round brass pulls and ornate escutcheon; circa 1850. This is an unique antique item and will show signs of wear from its history.
