Description
A well-balanced pair of lounge chairs that show the clarity and ease of Danish mid-century design. The focus here is on form, comfort, and honest materials.
Design
These chairs are attributed to Arne Hovmand-Olsen, a Danish designer known for his work in the 1950s and 60s. Each chair is made from solid teak, shaped into smooth, flowing lines. The armrests curve slightly forward, giving the chairs a welcoming feel and a clear silhouette from every angle. The construction is visible in places, adding a sense of craftsmanship without drawing too much attention. Seats and backrests are upholstered in a green wool fabric, which contrasts nicely with the warm tone of the wood. The buttoned seat adds a small detail without interrupting the overall simplicity. A slightly reclined back makes them comfortable for everyday use, whether placed in a living room or reading corner.
Together, the pair offers a consistent look that works well in both modern and more classic interiors.
Condition
The condition is very good, with light wear to the wooden frames. The upholstery remains in good condition overall, with some visible wear to the backrests. However, we can support on re-upholstery if requested. -
