Description
Dimensions: 29” H x 65 ⅞” W x 19 ⅞” D
This modest console table, or server, is hand-crafted of solid walnut dating to circa 1860 France. The planks of the top have an amber-honey glow, a rich patina from time & use, and breadboard arrangement with perpendicular boards on the short sides made using square-peg joinery. A small, shallow drawer sits in the middle of the apron that has been cleaned and waxed to glide easily, opened by a turned wood knob. Within the wood one sees long ago insect damage leaving convoluted grooves of incredible texture that adds to the organic qualities of the piece. The whole is supported by thick, tapering square legs without bottom stretchers to use this table for a number of different rooms and functions. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to preserve all the historic character. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out directly with any questions. -
