Description
This rare Kosmos lounge chair was designed by Augusto Bozzi and manufactured by Saporiti, Italy in the mid 1950s. The chair retains its original manufacturer’s label, Fratelli Saporiti, Besnate. This listing is for a single chair, we do have a second chair available to make a pair, please contact us to learn more about the possibilities.
The design is marked by its striking sculptural frame in black lacquered metal with elegant brass feet. The rounded silhouette and generous depth and width of the shell make this a particularly comfortable lounge chair. Due to the sculptural wire frame and dynamic proportions, the chair presents beautifully from every angle, giving it a strong architectural presence even when not in use.
The chair has been newly upholstered in a dark teal Pierre Frey bouclé fabric. The frame is in very good condition with minor wear consistent with age.
