Matched Set of Eight Swedish 19th Century Gustavian Lindome Chairs

Made in Lindome, Sweden, around 1800, this matched set of eight Gustavian chairs has been repainted in soft grey and newly upholstered. Lindome was a noted Swedish furniture-producing region, and the set is assembled as a matched group of eight. The Gustavian style, the Swedish interpretation of neoclassicism, is expressed in the restrained lines and balanced proportions of the chairs, while the soft grey repaint gives them the muted palette valued in Swedish furniture.
