Description
A rare and highly collectible Mexican Modernist tabletop set designed and handcrafted by renowned silversmith Emilia Castillo in Taxco, Mexico—one of the most important centers of Mexican silversmithing in the 20th century.
This exceptional three-piece service includes a creamer, lidded sugar pot, and matching spoon, each executed in hand-hammered brass with rich silver plate and adorned with Castillo’s signature sculptural elements. Playful yet refined, the set features stylized frogs in sculptural relief—one forming the handle of the creamer, another climbing the sugar pot—paired with a lily pad finial and a delicate dragonfly-topped spoon. Each accent is beautifully inlaid with vibrant green malachite stone, creating a striking contrast against the luminous metal surfaces.
This design exemplifies Emilia Castillo’s celebrated ability to merge organic form, functional design, and Mexican Modernism, making it highly desirable among collectors and interior design professionals seeking statement tabletop objects.
All pieces are hand-signed and retain the original hallmark:
“Emilia Castillo, Mexico, M.R., TO-85, Plateado”
A sophisticated and whimsical addition to any curated bar, coffee service, or decorative vignette—ideal for collectors of Taxco silver and high-end interior styling.
