Set of 2 Röhl cantilever lounge chairs, 1960

Description
An exceptional set of two lounge chairs, likely originating from the Palace of the Republic in Berlin. The solid, gray-painted steel frame provides the chairs with excellent stability. Combined with the sturdy wooden frame and high-quality wool upholstery, this chair demonstrates a high level of craftsmanship. The chair legs, featuring stone-effect plastic blocks between the steel bands, show slight signs of wear. The cream-colored wool covers are in very good condition. The upholstery is flawless and guarantees exceptional seating comfort. These chairs are the rare version with armrests.

The armchairs come from the Röhl factory in Potsdam, which during GDR times exclusively manufactured armchairs for Western countries, such as the Konferstar by Rudolf Horn, or for the nomenklatura of East Germany.
