Jaru

Jaru is a company that produces decorative home accessories and giftware. It was founded in 1965 by Jack and Ruth Lewin in Culver City, California. The name "Jaru" is a combination of the first two letters of the founders' first names.

Jaru initially focused on producing ceramic vases and planters, but later expanded to include a wide range of decorative items such as figurines, candleholders, and wall plaques. The company's products are known for their whimsical and colorful designs, often featuring animals, flowers, and other natural motifs.

In addition to its own designs, Jaru also worked with a number of artists and designers to produce limited edition pieces. These collaborations included partnerships with prominent figures such as Salvador Dalí and the Memphis Group.
Jaru continued to operate under the leadership of the Lewin family for several decades, but was eventually sold to a private equity firm in 2008. Today, Jaru's products can still be found in many retail stores and online marketplaces, and the company remains a popular choice for those looking to add a touch of playful charm to their home decor.
