Martin Eisler
Austrian
Martin Eisler (1913 – 1977) was an Austrian-born Jewish architect who made significant contributions to design in South America.
Fleeing Nazi Europe, Eisler settled in Argentina in 1938, where he established himself as an accomplished interior designer and founded his own firm, Interieur Forma. His reputation grew, leading him to Brazil in the early 1950s. There, he crossed paths with Carlo Hauner and together they launched Galeria Artesanal in São Paulo, which later evolved into the renowned design firm, Forma.
After Carlo Hauner's departure in 1958, Eisler took the helm of Forma, steering it forward with his distinctive vision and expertise in interior design. His legacy in Brazilian design continues to influence contemporary aesthetics, marking him as a pivotal figure in the evolution of South American design.
