Paolo Venini

Italian, 1895 - 1959

Paolo Venini, a lawyer from Milan, established Venini in 1921 with Giacomo Cappellin, an antiques dealer from Venice. Venini began as a glass factory in Murano, a series of islands in Italy known for glassmaking. Venini has always been known for creating designs rooted in the Venetian glassmaking tradition that also embrace Modernism and new artistic trends. Almost a century later, Venini continues to produce world-class art glass and art lighting. Paolo Venini murano glass remains popular today.
