Rute Martins (b. 1978) is the creative force behind Greenapple, a luxury Portuguese furniture and lighting atelier she launched with her husband, Sérgio Rebola, in 2005. Initially economists, the duo shifted their focus in 2012 when they embraced Portugal's artisan tradition, establishing a 54,000 sq ft studio near Lisbon staffed by master craftsmen. Rute draws inspiration from Portugal’s landscapes and heritage, crafting organic forms and rich material palettes featuring marble, brass, wood, glass, and fine textiles.
Her portfolio includes iconic pieces like the Bordeira coffee table, Biloba sideboard, Conchula sofa, and award-winning Opposite floor lamp. Each design reflects her attention to detail, material integrity, and narrative storytelling—a true collaboration between designer, artisan, and client.
