Italian
Reggiani, founded in Italy in 1957 by Goffredo Reggiani, has grown into an international leader in lighting, renowned for its innovation, design, and technological advancements. The company played a key role in the Italian design renaissance, gaining prominence in the 1960s and 1970s with sleek, modern fixtures crafted from materials like wood, glass, and metal. Reggiani’s history is marked by pioneering developments, including the first luminaire range for low-voltage halogen lamps in Europe during the 1970s, the adjustable recessed “Downspot” in the 1980s, and a focus on low-energy lighting and quick-installation systems in the 1990s. In 2005, the company introduced the IOS (Interchangeable Optical System), allowing efficient swapping of optical components, followed by the “led Luce” system in 2009, which provided all lighting for a major retail store using only LEDs. In 2023, the Nemo Group acquired a majority stake in Reggiani, further expanding its reach and solidifying its position as a cornerstone of Italian lighting design. Today, Reggiani encompasses the main company brand as well as sub-brands and lines like L. Argenta Reggiani, Studio Reggiani, and designer-specific works by Goffredo Reggiani, reflecting its diverse design legacy and continued influence in modern and vintage lighting markets.
