Description
A monumental pair of 19th-century liturgical floor lamps, each featuring a finely modeled kneeling angel in a gesture of devotion. The figures are executed in polychrome plaster, characterized by serene facial expressions, wavy tresses secured with a star-diadem, and flowing teal-blue robes accented with gold-leaf borders. Each angel supports a tall, fluted standard that terminates in a grand, two-tier brass chandelier. These chandeliers exhibit high-level craftsmanship with pierced Gothic tracery and scrolled brackets.
Originally designed to hold wax tapers in a church or cathedral setting, these pieces have been carefully adapted for electric use. These statues provide a profound sense of scale and historical gravity, making them ideal for a grand foyer, library, or architectural collection. -
