Description
Chinese export famille rose porcelain floor vase, likely dating to the Republic period (1912–1949). The vase is finely hand painted and decorated in vibrant famille rose enamels, depicting the traditional “100 Boys” motif in a lively dragon procession festival scene. The composition features numerous figures engaged in celebratory activities, rendered with detailed facial expressions, varied garments, and animated poses, reflecting the auspicious symbolism associated with prosperity, happiness, and abundance.
The vase is further adorned with a pair of molded foo lion masque and ring handles at the shoulder, adding sculptural dimension and traditional decorative elements. The underside bears an overglaze red mark. The quality of the hand painting and the intricate detailing demonstrate fine craftsmanship characteristic of the period.
Measuring approximately 22.75 inches in height and 9.5 inches in diameter, this vase has a strong decorative presence while remaining versatile in placement. It can be displayed as a floor vase, on a pedestal, or as a focal point within a variety of interior settings, complementing both traditional and contemporary decor. -
