Víctor Gutiérrez Monumental Mexican Bronze Seated Woman Sculpture, 1989

Large limited-edition figurative bronze sculpture by Mexican artist Víctor Gutiérrez (b. 1950), created in 1989. Depicting an elegant seated woman in traditional Mexican dress, the sculpture features a beautiful polychrome patina combining warm bronze tones with soft verdigris and green surfaces.

The work displays Gutiérrez's characteristic attention to the Mexican female figure, with finely modeled facial features, braided hair, elongated hands and feet, and richly textured clothing inspired by traditional Mexican textiles. Gutiérrez studied at Mexico City's renowned La Esmeralda, where his training included work under celebrated sculptor Francisco Zúñiga. Gutiérrez's work has been exhibited internationally, including in the United States, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, China, Colombia, Puerto Rico and El Salvador, and his sculptures are represented in public and institutional collections. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Museo Iconográfico del Quijote in Guanajuato, Mexico.
