Description
This very finely woven, well-preserved NW Persian antique scatter presents a rust field with five full vignettes: a central vase, iris, and twin bird composition; lower pair with cypresses and serpents; upper pair with twinned cypresses and a single bird. Half floral motives at the mid-sides. Main slate border of palmettes, serrated leaves, and multiple arabesque vines. Scrollery minors and innermost polychrome chevron stripe. All silk construction.
