Description
An extraordinary extra large porcelain and pure silver platter by renowned Mexican designer Emilia Castillo, signed Emilia Castillo, Plata Pura, Mexico “N”. This statement oval platter embodies the artistry and craftsmanship that has made Castillo an influential figure in international design.
The surface is richly decorated with Castillo’s signature nature-inspired motifs, featuring delicately hand-applied pure silver inlays of hummingbirds, blossoms, and trailing vines. The shimmering silver accents contrast beautifully with the crisp white porcelain, creating a piece that is at once functional and sculptural.
Measurements:
Width: 24.75 in. (62.9 cm)
Depth: 12.25 in. (31.1 cm)
Height: 2.25 in. (5.7 cm)
Emilia Castillo has been celebrated for carrying forward the design legacy of her father, Antonio Castillo, while carving out her own path as one of Mexico’s leading contemporary designers. Her work—merging traditional Mexican silversmithing with modern, organic forms—has earned her recognition both in Mexico and abroad. Castillo’s creations have been exhibited internationally and are sought after by collectors, interior designers, and tastemakers who value pieces that bridge luxury, craftsmanship, and timeless artistry.
This platter is not only a remarkable example of Mexican design excellence but also a versatile piece—perfect as a table centerpiece, serving vessel, or display object in interiors that emphasize sophisticated, artisanal detail. -
