Description
An exceptional “Libra” sculptural chandelier designed and manufactured in Los Angeles, California by celebrated American lighting designer Marian Jamieson, retaining its original maker’s label and dated 2020.
Executed in solid brass with contrasting matte black powder-coated steel shades and crisp white enameled interiors, Libra exemplifies Jamieson’s architectural and highly disciplined approach to modern lighting design. The composition features two balanced hemispherical shades suspended from a geometric brass frame, evoking mid-century Italian and French modernist lighting while remaining distinctly contemporary.
Each bowl-shaped shade is precision perforated along the upper rim, allowing subtle points of light to emerge while creating dramatic ambient illumination. The polished brass framework has developed a warm, naturally aged patina, adding depth, character, and authenticity to this showroom example.
This particular fixture was acquired directly as a Marian Jamieson showroom floor sample and retains its original manufacturer’s label, UL certification, and wiring.
An ideal acquisition for collectors of architectural lighting, collectible American design, custom brass fixtures, modernist chandeliers, and interior designers seeking a statement piece for dining rooms, entry foyers, libraries, boutique hospitality, or luxury residential interiors.
