An exceptional and extensive antique Meissen porcelain dinner service, made in Germany in the 19th century by the renowned Meissen manufactory. This complete and elegant service is designed for twelve people and is richly decorated with delicate scattered floral motifs, framed within a refined green ruffled and shell-form border. The decoration reflects the timeless sophistication and technical excellence associated with Meissen porcelain production. Among the additional elements are two lidded sugar bowls measuring about 4 1/2 inches in diameter, two jelly pots at 6 inches in diameter, a decorative vase standing approximately 6 3/4 inches high, and two small square dishes measuring 8 1/2 inches across. The service further includes six oval serving trays of various sizes, the largest measuring about 16 inches wide, along with four square serving bowls up to approximately 9 1/2 inches wide, and four gravy boats measuring about 10 1/2 inches in width.
Also included are two long oval platters measuring approximately 24 inches wide, two oval bowls at 9 inches wide, two circular serving platters measuring 13 1/2 inches in diameter, and two circular divided platters measuring 11 3/4 inches in diameter. Completing the service are an oval serving tray with handle measuring 21 inches wide, an additional oval serving tray at 18 inches wide, a teapot measuring approximately 11 inches in width, a lidded tureen at 13 1/2 inches wide, and a creamer standing about 4 inches high.
Altogether, this impressive service comprises 121 pieces, forming a complete and highly versatile dining ensemble suitable for formal entertaining or display.
