Born in England during the 19th century, this charming oil painting depicts one of the many bridges that cross over the canals of the splendid Serenissima. Standing out beautifully on a blue sky accented with discreet clouds, a church with round cupola accentuates the background while a red brick arched bridge draws us in. Locals are busying themselves with their daily occupations while a gondola is making its way in the canal's calm waters. Set inside a delicately carved wooden frame, this English 19th century painting will bring a romantic touch to any home decor, perhaps hung above a chest-of-drawers, side table or buffet.
