Description
A Belgian framed oil on canvas painting from the late 19th century signed Julien T'Felt (1874-1933) and titled "Scène de Ferme" (Farmyard Scene). Created in Belgium during the last decade of the 19th century, this T'Felt oil on canvas painting depicts humble farm scene. Coming out of a thatched-roof house on the left, an anonymous woman is carrying a bucket to draw water from the well located in the front. Tall trees on the right create strong vertical lines that lead our eyes to the blue sky with fluffy clouds, while the foreground is occupied by a small pond on which a few ducks are floating. In the distance, a man wearing a red shirt is going into the woods. Humble and serene, the painting is signed and dated Julien T'Felt 1890 lower right. A perfectly addition to any home, perhaps hung above a side table, buffet or bergère chair!
