Description
A French framed oil on canvas still-life painting from the late 19th century depicting a bouquet of flowers in a landscape. Born in France during the later years of the 19th century, this signed oil on canvas painting features a colorful bouquet of red and white flowers boasting its joyous presence next to a pond covered with water lilies, the ensemble protected by arid hills. The diagonal created by the flowers leads our eye throughout the composition while the Stark contrast between the vibrancy of the red and neutral tones of the background creates a wonderful focal point. Set inside a carved gilt frame, this French oil on canvas still-life painting, circa 1899 is signed and dated lower right.
