Wonderful Art Deco era painting by the Spanish artist, Jacinto Salvado (1892-1983). This painting "Portrait de Femme" is a combination of the figural expressionism and cubism movements that enthralled Salvado in the 20's. He is the best known as the "Seated harlequin" model, painted by Picasso in 1923. He and Picasso were considered two of the most promising Spanish painters in Paris in the avante gardes period.

Creator: Jacinto Salvado participated in the Realistes Nouvelles salon through his friendships with Max Brill, Jean Arp, Leuppi and Herbin. He had a relationship with the Swiss dancer Anita Wiskemann, consequently he spent time in Switzerland where this was discovered.
