Aldo Londi for Bitossi Cinese Lamp, Ceramic, Blue, Gold, Italy, 1960s. Tall lamp with blue textured cylinder body and embellished with gold glazed bands at the pinched top and tapered footed bottom. A rare example from Aldo Londi's "Cinese" series of decorative accessories (vases, lamps, candle holders, and sculptures) which drew heavily from the forms and patinations of ancient Chinese bronze vessels. Signed on the underside of the base: 52/16 Base Made in Italy". Measures 23 inches from the base to socket and 18.5 inches from the base to the top of the lamp body.
