Art Deco Molded & Frosted Glass Chandelier with Nickel Fittings by Petitot

This elegant and beautifully composed Art Deco Molded & Frosted Glass Chandelier W/Nickel Fittings is by Petitot and originates from France, Circa 1930. This chandelier features four molded and frosted glass shades with a stimulating contrast of billowing curvature and striated linear detailing, the central element of each shade swooping upwards and expanding outwards, curling back on itself to creating a wonderful billowing motif reminiscent of the front of an ocean vessel. Horizontal striations frame the upward lines and integrate beautifully into the triangular frame with cutout detailing contrasting and sharply framing the more curved elements of the shades. Suspended by four rectilinear supports that lead up to a canopy with lovely expanding linear detailing, unifying the frame with the shades and providing additional moments of admiration and beautiful execution. A stunning chandelier and a lovely example of the motifs and design characteristics of the Art Deco era, this fixture will style well in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century Modernist and Contemporary Interiors.
