Description
Beautiful Austrian Radiant Mid-Century Space-Age Chandelier, Model “Miracle”, designed by Prof. Friedl Bakalowits and crafted by his renowned company Bakalowits & Söhne, Vienna, Austria, in the 1960s. This stunning piece measures 25” in diameter and features brass hardware composed of seven tiers of concentric brass rings. Mounted on these rings are radiating, differently sized, faceted clear crystal glass rods that beautifully diffuse and reflect the light outward.
The chandelier is in good original condition and has been professionally rewired. The brass showcases a wonderful natural patina that can only develop over many decades — please see the photos for details. It is currently wired for European use (E27), but we offer rewiring for your country (e.g., E26 USA, using UL-listed materials) as a complimentary service. The current drop height is 25”, and we are happy to adjust the height to your requirements, also free of charge.
We truly do not exaggerate when we say that this Sputnik-style chandelier is breathtaking — it is certainly one of our favorite fixtures, and an absolute joy to behold when illuminated. The “Miracle” chandelier by Bakalowits stands as a Mid-Century design icon, celebrated for its exceptional craftsmanship and luxurious materials. -
