Description
A striking and rare large-scale ceramic table lamp designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, imported to the U.S. by Raymor in the 1960s. This sculptural piece exemplifies the bold artistry and rhythmic geometry that defined Londi’s mid-century studio work.
The lamp’s bulbous body is finished in a rich raw umber matte glaze, offering a warm, earthy base that anchors its visual presence. Embellishing the surface are abstract black, white, and yellow ochre glaze motifs arranged in a classic mid-century repeating pattern—graphic, playful, and unmistakably Italian modern.
Adding dimensional contrast, the lamp is adorned with a series of concentric ceramic rings encircling the neck. These rings are rendered in a lighter tone and finished in a high-gloss glaze, creating a luminous counterpoint to the matte body and enhancing the sculptural silhouette.
This piece is both a functional lighting fixture and a collectible work of ceramic art—ideal for interiors that celebrate bold form, rich texture, and European modernism.
The height to the top of the finial is 38"
The height of the ceramic is 19" x 10" diameter.
The shade is not included but measures 15d x 17h -
