Description
This exceptional Bradley & Hubbard reverse-painted glass and patinated metal table lamp was crafted during the first quarter of the 20th century and is a remarkable example of the artistry and quality for which the renowned Bradley & Hubbard Company is celebrated. Rich in decorative detail, the lamp showcases an exquisite reverse-painted glass shade framed in beautifully patinated bronze, featuring an intricate hand-painted scenic landscape depicting charming cities, tranquil rivers, lush trees, and architectural buildings. The vibrant artistry and remarkable depth of the reverse painting create a captivating display when illuminated.
Adding to its distinctive character, the bronze frame is adorned with three intricately cast sea dragon sculptures, gracefully intertwined in an inverted design that reflects the imaginative craftsmanship and exceptional attention to detail synonymous with Bradley & Hubbard. The base of the lamp retain the original Bradley & Hubbard patent stamps, further attesting to the authenticity and quality of this outstanding antique.
Standing 27 inches high with an impressive 22-inch diameter shade, this lamp is generously scaled while remaining versatile enough to serve as a striking focal point on a side table, console, library table, or desk. Whether illuminated or displayed as a sculptural work of art, it is sure to become a conversation piece in any traditional, Arts & Crafts, or eclectic interior.
The lamp is in good condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use. The reverse-painted glass shade is free of cracks, preserving the beauty and integrity of the original artwork. This is a rare opportunity to acquire an authentic Bradley & Hubbard lamp that embodies the extraordinary craftsmanship and timeless elegance of the early 20th century. -
