Description
A handsome pair of English brass hurricane wall sconces by Charles Edwards of London, masterfully crafted in England and retaining their original maker's labels. Timeless in design, these elegant single-arm sconces blend refined Georgian and Regency influences with a warm, understated rustic character, making them equally at home in traditional, transitional, English country, or contemporary interiors.
Each sconce features a beautifully cast circular backplate with raised foliate decoration, a gracefully curved brass arm, a fluted candle cup, and an exquisitely detailed acorn finial. The etched hand-blown glass hurricane shades are accented with a rolled brass rim and delicate engraved decoration, creating a soft, sophisticated presence whether illuminated or displayed as decorative objects.
Charles Edwards is internationally recognized for producing some of the finest handcrafted architectural lighting in England, with fixtures found in distinguished residences, luxury hotels, and heritage restorations throughout the world. This pair embodies the company's commitment to traditional craftsmanship and enduring quality.
An exceptional choice for an entry hall, library, dining room, powder room, hallway, bedroom, or flanking a fireplace, mirror, or artwork. Their classic proportions and authentic English craftsmanship make them especially appealing to interior designers seeking refined period-inspired lighting with timeless versatility.
