This striking pair of generously sized table lamps was designed by Einar Johansen and produced by Søholm Stentøj in Denmark during the 1960s. Each lamp is stamped with the manufacturer’s name and the model number 1070 on the underside of the base.
The stoneware base features a beautiful cylindrical lower section that transitions into a diabolo-shaped upper part, topped by a slimmer neck. The stoneware is finished in a glossy, multicolored glaze, showcasing refined and vibrant hues of blue, green, teal, purple and brown. These colors blend seamlessly into one another, creating a sophisticated gradient effect.
The drum-shaped lampshades have been newly replaced with matte, ivory-colored fabric. Their neutral tone provides an elegant contrast to the vivid, expressive base.
Each lamp has been rewired and is fitted with a standard E26/E27 bulb socket and a 220V European plug. Both lamps are in very good condition, with new shades and updated wiring.
