Description
This German pendant lamp by Kaiser Leuchten features a tiered architectural structure composed of multiple interlocking textured glass stems. The organic surface of the glass diffuses light from several internal points, while the open upper section allows for upward light distribution. The vertical glass components are secured to a nickel frame that has acquired a darkened patina over time. This design highlights the high-quality glasswork and material-focused aesthetic typical of Kaiser's 1970s production.
Kaiser Leuchten, founded by Brothers Kaiser in 1895 in Neheim-Hüsten, Germany, became a prominent fixture of the European lighting industry. After World War II, the company rose to international acclaim for its functionalist designs and collaborations with designers such as Christian Dell, later moving toward more decorative, material-rich fixtures in the late mid-century period. -
